Have you been nominated for a SEND Award?

If you are one of the lucky candidates who’s nomination made it through to the next round then you are in the running to win a SEND Award!

There were 184 nominations from around the borough for this exciting event so congratulations to everyone who received a nomination, it’s a huge accomplishment to be recognised.

What are the SEND Awards?

The night is a chance to recognise children and young people’s achievements in sports, arts, and education as well as important things like friendship and community spirit, and of course the best adults who help them.

SEND takes centre stage on Wednesday 5 July 2023 from 5pm-7:30pm in the Assembly Room at the Grimsby Town Hall, Town Hall Square.

At the event you will get to share in the winners journeys and hear their stories through the award ceremony which is followed by food and and a dance.

YPAG Group

Foresight half term SEND kids club

Foresight is running a kids club for children aged 8 to 17 with learning disablities during May helf-term.

“Are you looking for something fun for your child over half term? Look no further! Our kids scheme is back and better than ever.

We have a jam-packed schedule of exciting activities, including nerf wars and a trip to the trampoline park. Plus, we’re providing much-needed respite for parents and caregivers.

The scheme runs from May 30th to June 2nd, and spaces are limited on a first come, first serve basis.

This service is specifically for children with learning disabilities.

Tangled-SEND Sensory Cinema

The next Sensory Cinema event at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre will be Tangled on 21 May from 2pm to 4pm

There will be sensory activities and lots of fun alongside the film to sing along to!

Sensory Cinema is a SEN adapted cinema experience for all, passionate about inclusion and adapting. You’ll feel safe here!

Our Future Starts Here presents: Dream Setting – SEND / Relaxed performance

Audiences are invited to enjoy this experience of improvisational storytelling and dance, in a show that makes use of the Minster’s beautiful grand piano and invites those present to be active participants in creating a dreamlike musical world with future themes.

Autism Hour

Did you know that every Saturday from 9am – 10am is #AutismHour at Freshney Place Shopping Centre?

This means that all rides, hand dryers and background music will be turned off in the centre for one hour to support this wonderful cause.

The Rock Foundation

The Rock Foundation provides young people and adults with learning disabilities with opportunities.

They are opening a shop in Freshney Place and are looking for volunteers.

Parent Led Advocacy Course for Family members living in Yorkshire and Humber

Bringing Us Together is delighted to be able to bring you a team of highly skilled and experienced trainers including those with lived experience for a special six-session course designed for Yorkshire and Humber families and parent carers. The sessions are welcoming, supportive and informative.

Open to any parent or family member with an autistic child and/or a young person with a learning disability.
