Health promotion drop-in event

Angie and Jo are two friendly faces from the Humber and North Yorkshire NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB (formerly CCG).

On Friday 2 September they attended Foresights annual sports day to promote SEND Annual Health Checks.

These are free health checks for people aged 14 and over who are on the Learning Disabilities register.

At the event they gave out healthy snacks and promoted the importance of the checks.

The annual check is an important part of a young person’s self care.

Taking advantage of your check every year encourages independence. Having one, even when you are well, helps you to become more confident with the process. This way, if you ever do become ill, it will be easier for you.

Foresight are hosting a health promotion drop in event for people with a disability, and their parents carers at The Warehouse, Freeman Street, Grimsby on the 28 September 2022, from 10am – 2pm. Find out about support in North East Lincolnshire and how to stay healthy.

See the event on our newly revamped Local Offer calendar of events and training!

Letters are in the process of being sent out to all those eligible who have not yet had an annual health check or an offer for one.

If someone feels that they should be eligible they need to contact their GP to ensure that they are on the Disability Register and for more information.
