Vaccinations for unpaid carers

There has been a change in the way that unpaid carers can access a Covid vaccination.

Unpaid carers who are not known to the health, care or social security system are now being asked to contact their GP.

The GP will ask the unpaid carers a few questions which will determine if they are eligible for the vaccine.

Previously, unpaid carers who were not identified through the other routes and were not known to the health, care or social security system had been able to book through the National Booking System.

This process for previously unidentified carers has been temporarily switched off due to supply issues expected from April.
