SEND friendly haircuts at Uniform Hut

The Uniform Hut at 123-125 Pasture St. Grimsby, DN32 9EE are offering SEND friendly haircuts.

They had an increasing number of enquiries from parent carers who expressed the difficulty that can come with something as simple as a getting a haircut for a child with SEND.

A local mum said: “I’m ever so thankful to The Uniform Hut for being so patient, cam and understanding with Riley with him having special needs he can be very challenging and unpredictable but these ladies made me and my son feel so so welcome and made me feel so at ease as I felt pretty stressed and on edge most of the time but our little man in the end after lots of running up and down and exploring the toys and sensory things and being cheeky…say on the floor watching youtube and eating crispies while having his hair trimmed and i’m so proud of him as its a big thing for him! I really do highly recommend The Uniform Hut 100%.”

Get involved- DBV engagement opportunity

SENDIASS are co-ordinating a Virtual Teams Meeting on Tuesday 28 March from 12.30pm – 2pm. This is a great opportunity for parents and carers to be fully informed and have their voices heard on the Delivering Better Value in SEND project.

The Local Authority has been taking part in Delivering Better Value in SEND and they are now in a position to share some findings and consult with stakeholders on the proposed action plan.  Rebecca Taylor, Head of SEND and Inclusion will be leading a session which will include feedback from the survey that went out in December, as well as what they are proposing to do as a result of the feedback.

There will be an opportunity to provide your feedback on any further thoughts or ideas that align to the findings of the programme.  An electronic feedback form with three questions will enable you to do this, if you don’t want to use the chat function or participate in the discussion during the event.

Parents Carers are asked to register their interest in attending this session by using the Eventbrite link below- Delivering Better Value in SEND – Parent/Carer Feedback Session Tickets, Tue 28 Mar 2023 at 12:30 | Eventbrite
