Nominations open for the SEND Awards

Local children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) have come together through the Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG) to plan the SEND Award Ceremony.

Local young people said: “We want to celebrate SEND. We want to show people it’s not about having challenges or being different, it’s about being strong and empowered.”

One of the ways children and young people wanted to show this was through an award ceremony.

The SEND Award Ceremony will take place on Friday, 21 January from 5-7pm in the Assembly Room at Grimsby Town Hall, Town Hall Square, Grimsby, DN31 1HU.

The Ceremony is themed ‘night at the movies’ and is sure to be a lively and fun occasion for both young people and adults.

Shining a light on what they thought was most important, the group came up with ten award categories that they thought should be recognised.

Vote online using the SEND Award nomination form.
