UPDATE: Tomorrow online engagement event. New free school in North East Lincolnshire to support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

UPDATE MAY 2023

In March 2023 we found out our bid to the Department for Education (DfE) for a new free school was successful. The new school will support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).

There’ll be a lot more work until the new school opens, but the next steps this year will be to secure a site and to bring on board a trust to run the school. We’ll work with the DfE on both these steps.

Community and Councillor Engagement

We engaged with a wide variety of people leading up to the bid and we’ll continue to do this, so we’re going to hold two community engagement in June 2023 to update you on the current position and the next steps. We also want to hear your thoughts, questions and ideas to help make the school as successful as possible.

The first community event will be at Freeman St Market on Thursday 15 June from 9am to 12pm – we’ll post more information shortly but this event will include a short presentation with plenty of time for discussion and question, and we may run through this format twice during the morning.

The second community event will be a live online session.

Join us Tuesday 20 June from 6-7pm for:
