Love exploring North East Lincolnshire, you never know what you might find!

People have been reporting sightings of dinosaurs across North East Lincolnshire’s parks in recent days.

From Triceratops to Pterodactyls, Ankylosaurus to T-Rex, you can find them all roaming in various open spaces across the Borough!

You can currently find the dinosaurs wandering around Central Prom and the Boating Lake in Cleethorpes, in People’s Park and Weelsby Woods in Grimsby and in Homestead Park in Immingham too.

New virtual trails have been created by the council in the wake of Covid to encourage children to get out and about with their parents and hunt the dinos down.

Once you’ve found them you can take a selfie with the augmented reality versions of the dinosaurs, and answer questions in the online quiz too! Why not tag in @discoverNEL or #DiscoverNEL on Insta as well? We’ll pick the best ones and share them for everyone to see!

Cllr Callum Procter, Cabinet member for tourism, said: “This is a great way for families, young and old, to get out and about and visit some of our lovely parks and open spaces. We’re also shortly going to be re-launching new physical routes to complement this new initiative.”

More trails and quizzes will be launched through the app in the coming 12 months, so keep watching out for updates.

All that’s needed is a smartphone that can download the Love Exploring app. Visit your favourite app store (Google Play store or Apple store) and search for “Love Exploring”. Then all you need is to get your shoes on and get out and about.
