Inspiring Future Innovators

INNOVATION and Science are the focus of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, inspiring children to feed their imagination during the summer holidays.

Lincs Inspire Libraries are partnering with The Reading Agency and the Science Museum Group, to spark children’s curiosity about the world around them and keep up reading habits during the school holidays.

This year introduces the ‘Gadgeteers’, six fictional characters inspiring wonder behind a whole range of interests, from fashion and technology to cooking and music.

Lawrence Dunn, Libraries Development Officer, Lincs Inspire said: “This year’s theme is sure to capture the imagination of a lot of our younger readers. Reading and science are for everyone, and the possibilities are endless! The adventures begin right here in the library!”

Karen Napier, CEO, The Reading Agency, said: “In our 20th birthday year as a charity, we are delighted to be working once again with public libraries across the four nations. We are hugely grateful for their longstanding support of the Summer Reading Challenge and look forward to continuing to work closely in partnership with them, as well as schools, community groups and parents and carers to inspire the next generation of readers and innovators.”

The Challenge runs from July 16 to September 17 at Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Immingham and Waltham Libraries. Families can register online at summerreadingchallenge.org.uk or in person at any Lincs Inspire Library. For more info visit lincsinspire.com.
