Coffee morning

Our SEND Team are proud to announce a range of new events for parents of children with SEND.

This September we will be hosting regular coffee morning drop in sessions.

Join us for a friendly chat over a coffee and a biscuit.

Meet other parents of children and young people with SEND, discuss issues, and share insight and ideas.

Parents matter, but so do other adults who look after children too.

From foster carers to grandparents we have used the term ‘parents’ as shorthand for all these different carers.

We want to hear about your experiences and how we can help.

We will have guest speakers on subjects that matter to you and your family.

There are two weekly for you to choose from.

The sessions start on the week beginning Monday,13 September, 2021.

Monday

Central Family Hub,
Edward Street,
Grimsby

9:30-11:30am

Thursday

Nunsthorpe Family Hub,
Sutcliffe Avenue,
Grimsby

9:30-11:30am

The sessions are being hosted by our newly appointed SEND Parent Engagement Champion, Abi Fleming.

Abi said: “I’m thrilled to be able to work with local families of children with SEND.

“I have a background in health as a paediatric nurse.

“Also, as a mother of two, one of whom has SEND, I feel that I’m in a good position to understand the needs of parents.

“There’s so much potential to enhance what we offer. It’s a really exciting time to be involved.”
