Assistive Technology offered to schools

As part of the Delivering Better Value Project we are keen to support schools to access Assistive Technology in a cost-effective way.

We have partnered with the Learn Teach SEND Hub to bring the following opportunity to schools in North East Lincolnshire:

We have been offered a special deal on Scanner Reading Pens, designed to support students with reading difficulties. These pens have proven to be invaluable tools in enhancing reading comprehension and independence among students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Watch the case studies.

This is some work they have done with a Multi Academy Trust.

Outline of the Offer and Pilot Programme:

If you choose to take part, you will be sent two ‘Reader Pen 2’ devices.

The pens will be sent on a trial basis, and they will be on trial with you for free for 60 days. This should give you the chance to try them with many students and see the impact they can have.

At the end of the 60 days, you can decide whether you want to keep the device or post it back.

As part of the trial, the SENCo from each school taking up the offer will need to attend two training sessions. These will be at a convenient time for you:

  1. Session 1: Katie Mayers (Business Development Associate Primary) will go through the features of the pens.
  2. Session 2: Julia (Global Education Manager) will discuss implementation.
