Autism in Schools Book Club
Our team have been inspired by the Autism in Schools project. They have been busy planning a book club.
Ten parent carers and ten professionals from the schools involved in the project will be reading ‘Uniquely Human: A Different Way of Seeing Autism’ written by Dr. Barry M. Prizant.

This is a part of the ‘whole school approach’ that ensures that SEND is at the centre of a schools way of working. It is also a part of workforce development and training.
Parent carers wanted to know that knowledge and awareness of SEND would be increased throughout schools and that this would be taken further with ongoing training and activities.
When school staff members complete the book club they will receive a free copy of the book along with an instructor’s guide, information on how to run the club in their schools, and which professionals need to be involved.
